Bringing a thoughtful and grounded presence to therapy, Darcy draws on professional experience across hospital settings, victim support services, private practice, and community mental health. Along with a background in the ADF, these diverse roles provide Darcy with a deep appreciation for the many ways psychological distress can appear — and the equally diverse paths that healing can take.
Darcy’s approach is collaborative and flexible. He places strong emphasis on creating a genuine therapeutic relationship where open dialogue, curiosity, and compassion support real change. At the heart of his work is the belief that therapy should be shaped around each person’s unique story rather than applying rigid formulas.
He tailors treatment using evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT).
Darcy holds a Bachelor of Psychological Science (First Class Honours) from the University of Queensland and a Master of Clinical Psychology. He is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
